By admin
Instead of Chinese Government officials lessening the oppression of Chinese citizens and even foreigners, the government has recently heightened restrictions due to the upcoming Olympic Games in Beijing. Recently, government officials have been ordering arrests of people that are deemed to “cause trouble” .
There’s news out of Beijing that media correspondents who previously received an invitation to the Olympic Torch ceremony were then denied access to the Olympic Torch ceremony. In addition, “That’s Beijing” was recently ordered to change articles before they could be printed. “That’s Beijing” is one of the most influential English cultural magazines in China.
Two Beijing universities were recently forced to shut down their Internet servers after students on message boards were overly critical of government action in Tibet. Dissenters argue that websites critical of Western government are still operating without delay or even much censorship.
Should the Olympics Say No to Beijing? More and more people are saying yes.
